Developed geospatial Android and iOS apps with ArcGIS/Qt and later led a small team while contributing to Java backend services.
Overview
Completed a 3-month end-of-studies internship abroad at GeoSYS, contributing to the Mappa Malta and Visit Gozo apps for Android and iOS using the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt. After the internship, I was offered a full-time position and stayed on for another 4 months, continuing development and taking on a leadership role guiding 2 developers and 1 intern. I also contributed to backend features in Java before returning to Belgium to finish my studies at Howest.
Contributions
- Developed and maintained the mobile apps for Android and iOS.
- Used ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt to integrate geospatial features into the applications.
- Took on a leadership role after internship, guiding a small team of 2 developers and 1 intern.
- Contributed to backend development in Java using Spring Boot and Hibernate.
- Optimized geospatial data processing with ArcGIS Server and PostGIS.
- Worked closely with designers and stakeholders to refine app functionality and user experience.
